Funders

The unemployment problem is very complex and Generation is always looking to expand the community of partners with whom we work.

Our funding partner

We are grateful for our partnership with the Mastercard Foundation to deploy the GROW (Ghana Remote and Online Work) programme.

How we work

About partnering with Generation

We aim to work with partners across different sectors to create a supportive and inclusive environment for people of all ages to access employment opportunities and succeed in their careers.

We work with different types of partners: corporations, trusts and foundations, governments and philanthropists.

And our collaboration depends on the partners’ needs and objectives and can include funding, in-kind support, and ecosystem engagement.

Why partner with us?

At Generation, we believe in the power of employment to transform lives, and we know that you do too. Millions of people around the world struggle to make ends meet, many struggle to save money in order to transform their lives and those of their families. And too often, well paying jobs – the foundation for income stability and long-term well-being lie out of reach for people who face one or more systemic barriers due to their gender, race, ethnicity, sexual orientation, education, and income.

With your partnership, together, we can create a world where everyone has the opportunity to build a better future.

Types of partners

At Generation we work with several different types of partners, tailoring support to be mutually beneficial and to maximise impact.

Corporations

Generation typically partners with corporations that are looking to address skills gaps within their industry or region. We achieve that by designing and implementing programmes that equip individuals with the skills they need to succeed in the workforce.

Corporations provide funding, expertise, and access to their networks to support the development and delivery of workforce development programmes. Some may provide financial support to help fund the development and delivery of the programmes, while others may provide expertise in specific areas such as curriculum development or job placement. They may also provide job opportunities for individuals who have completed our programmes.

The partnership between corporations and Generation aims to create opportunities for individuals to develop the skills they need to succeed in the workforce, while also helping corporations address skills gaps and talent shortages within their industry.

Foundations

Generation partners with foundations by leveraging the expertise, resources, and networks of both organisations.

Foundations can provide funding to Generation to support the development and implementation of programmes and initiatives.

We leverage these funds to expand our reach and to provide more support to people of all ages.

We leverage foundations’ expertise and resources related to workforce development, education, and skills training. This includes research, training materials, and networks of professionals in various industries.

Foundations can work together with Generation to support people of all ages in developing the skills and knowledge they need to succeed in the workforce. By leveraging their expertise, resources, and networks, they can create programmes and initiatives that have a significant impact on the lives of people from underserved communities.

Philanthropists

We partner with philanthropists to help fund, raise awareness and implement our programmes. This happens via fundraising which provides financial support, enabling Generation to expand its services and reach more people of all ages. Help can also come by advocating for our cause, sharing our mission, raising awareness and generating support for Generation. Another way to support is to collaborate to design and implement programmes that address the specific needs in Ghana. Philanthropists can offer their expertise in a particular field, which can help Generation to improve our programmes and services.

The partnership between philanthropists and Generation aims to create sustainable solutions for people of all ages facing barriers to education and employment. By working together, we can leverage their resources and expertise to make a greater impact in the communities we serve across the globe.
