Overview

The AWS Intensive Cloud Computing & AI programme is a free, job-focused training programme delivered by Azubi Africa in partnership with Generation Ghana and the Mastercard Foundation.
It is designed to prepare young professionals in Ghana for cloud and AI roles.

This is a two-phase employment pathway that combines 14 weeks of expert-led, hands-on training with a 3-month placement sprint dedicated to helping you secure employment. The programme focuses on building practical, in-demand cloud and AI skills and then actively supporting your transition into work through structured job search, employer engagement, and ongoing coaching. Participants graduate with two globally recognised AWS badges: the Cloud Essentials Knowledge badge and the Amazon Q Developer Knowledge badge.

What is AWS Cloud Computing?

Think of AWS (Amazon Web Services) Cloud Computing like a giant toolbox filled with all the digital tools you need to run websites, apps, or even big data projects—without having to buy or maintain expensive hardware.

In simple terms, imagine you want to open a coffee shop. Normally, you’d have to buy a space, set up furniture, install coffee machines, and hire staff. But what if someone offered you a fully equipped coffee shop that you could just rent by the hour? You wouldn’t have to worry about maintenance, electricity, or machine breakdowns—you just focus on making great coffee.

Cloud computing is the same idea, but for IT services. Instead of buying and managing your own servers (big computers that store data and run software), you rent them from AWS and use them on demand.

What jobs can I do after completing the programme?

This programme builds practical skills for modern cloud environments where AI and automation are increasingly embedded. Through hands-on training, real-world projects, and role-based simulations, you gain experience in cloud infrastructure, deployment, security, DevOps workflows, data pipelines, and applied AI services. Some roles you can aim for include:

Who is this programme for?

This programme is a good fit for anyone who:

• are actively looking for a job or planning a career transition into tech
• available to start the programme in May 2026
• are seeking a pivot into cloud and AI roles
• are ready to engage in a structured job-search and placement process post-training phase
• want support with job applications, interviews, and employer engagement
• has access to a computer/laptop

Requirements

• be 18-35 years old
• based in Accra or Kumasi
• available for at least 8 hours a day for online real-time classes: MON to FRI 9 am to 5 pm
• a graduate or early-career professional with 0–3 years of experience in STEM or tech not earning above GHS4,000 
• have a degree from a university, college, vocational institute, or technical training, including certifications from Cisco (Cisco Certification, Cisco Networking Academy Badge or Course Certificate of Completion)
• exclusive for people who didn’t complete any previous Generation Ghana and its partners programmes in the past
• have the legal right to work and live in Ghana
• must be available for the placement phase
• can commit to: 
  • 40 hours/week (full-time, graduates), or 
  • 20 hours/week (part-time, early-career professionals)

Programme delivery outline

Phase 1 — Training (14 weeks) 

Build practical, in-demand skills in cloud computing and AI, with a strong focus on real-world applications. 

During the training phase, you will: 

• Develop core cloud computing and AI competencies
• Work on hands-on projects you can showcase to employers
• Build a professional portfolio and online presence
• Earn an AWS Knowledge Badge aligned with industry needs
• Full-time (graduates): 40 hours/week
• Part-time (mid-level professionals): 20 hours/week
• Format: 100% online 

 Phase 2 — Placement Sprint (approx. 12 weeks) 

After training, you will enter a dedicated placement sprint focused on securing employment. This phase helps you move from job-ready to job-placed through: 

• Direct employer engagement and exposure
• Access to real opportunities via Hi_Azubi, our AI-powered job board and career coach
• A structured job-search strategy and routine
• CV, cover letter and LinkedIn optimisation
• Interview preparation and mock interviews
• Ongoing accountability through the Alumni Community
